Hailey
Hailey is a labrador/ golden x and was one of a litter of 10 pups to travel from Virginia to Vermont 3 years ago.
If you talk to the owners of any of the pups of this litter you would have a hard time deciding who got the pick of the litter. Hailey was 9 weeks old when she was adopted by Leon Merriam. Leon is the caretaker of a large estate in Sharon, VT and Hailey is the resident dog on duty.
Leon has Hailey with him 24/7 and has taught her to do all kinds of things from water retrieval to riding a snow mobile. He has taught her to respond to whistle commands and verbal commands. She will hold a stay while deer run by, or while he moves heavy equipment. She is a well trained dog and they are a great team.
Leon was recently told us, "This time I used a lot more patience, because I had a lot more time. It has made all the difference. I haven't enjoyed anything so much in a long time. She is unbelievable. Hailey is like no other dog I have ever had." Leon is hoping to train Hailey to hunt partridge next.
